I heard that this is actually common in prisons, because some people are raped on a daily basis, and eventually they become permanently incontinent. Is this true, or just a myth?
Repeated anal trauma – which isn’t what happens in normal anal sex – undoubtedly could cause incontinence.

what is the best treatment and prevention of bladder infections, i get it mostly after sex.?
Cranberry juice. Plain and simple. I particularly don’t like the taste of cranberries (too tart) but that’ll clear it up right away
My dog developed incontinence this past year. She is a 9 yrs old and spayed. My vet checked her out and did not find any problems. Does this Leaks no more product work?
Non-medically related incontinence is common in spayed females.
The homeopathic remedies are hit and miss. They work great fro some dogs and others it does nothing to.
You might want to ask your vet about Phenylpropanolamine (PPA) it’s a decongestant that helps to tighten the sphinter muscle in the bladder. It’s been used with great success in both male and females with a similar problems
On Tuesday evening, my Husband and I had to have one of our beloved German Shepherds put to sleep and it’s affected me SO badly.
I’ve always had this breed of dog and love them dearly. We are now left with one 6 year old GSD, a white long-haired male. He too, (and I’m convinced of this) is also teary. It’s breaking my heart at the moment, I seem fine and then something happens and I burst into tears. I am not a "cryer " normally in life.
Our old girl, reached 13 years, which is quite good for a GSD, yet she was on all sorts of medication to survive. I just miss her being around, am trying to be upbeat with the other animals, we also have 2 cats.
I work from home and can’t stop thinking about her, feeling guilty too…that she might have managed a few more weeks?? I hope we gave her a little dignity, whilst she still had some…as she still tried to run for balls & enjoyed her grub! The rest of her life lately though, she was totally deaf, (unless I clapped my hands loud) spent laying around in the house and garden, having to be assisted up stairs and having incontinence problems etc;
I just can’t stop thinking about her. I’ve lost 2 dogs in the past, so it’s not like we haven’t been through this before. Also, her ‘passing’ was so calm and quick, I hugged her throughout and the Vets were wonderful, leaving my Husband and I with her afterwards for a long while. All I have now is a big empty collar and an empty hole in my heart, and a lonely dog, who’s never been on his own before. I know people will say, get another one soon but we are moving in a couple of months and it’s far too soon to do that yet.
I don’t know why I’m whingeing as she had a marvellous life compared to any dog, I just miss her terribly. Not sure why I’ve even put this on here, as there’s likely little anyone can say which will make me feel better, except that I feel guilty.
Crikey, thank you all so much for your answers. They are a great help right now.
NOTE to KAZMAID: Yes, same as you, as we are moving, we cannot bury her in our garden, so we too opted for cremation. I will be collecting her ashes and aim to leave some at this house…and bury the rest at our new home in the country. Then I plan to plant a tree on top of them, in honour of her. Your aviatar picture, looks like our GSD boy, totally! Thankyou XXX
SORRY, it was CHRISTINE as well, who has the white GSD on her aviatar !
Shows what a state I’m in :0( XXX
HELLO to ALL of you that have helped me so very much with your wonderful answers.
As I cannot personally choose a BEST answer, (They are ALL good!!), please vote amongst yourselves and choose for me…I just can’t, as they are all special… and have such good advice. I am printing the pages and will keep them to read every now and then. Many sincere thanks XX
I started crying when I read this. I’m sure she knew she was loved and adored, and I know you miss her something fierce. You were there for her when she needed you, you witnessed her milestones, her teething, her energetic younger days, and her aging and death.
You did everything you could for her, and she knew your devotion and loved you all the more for it. She’s pain free now, and waiting to see you someday again.
A Dog’s Prayer

Treat me kindly, my beloved master, for no heart in all the world is more grateful for kindness than the loving heart of me.
Do not break my spirit with a stick, for though I should lick your hand between the blows, your patience and understanding will more quickly teach me the things you would have me do.
Speak to me often, for your voice is the world’s sweetest music, as you must know by the fierce wagging of my tail when your footstep falls upon my waiting ear.
When it is cold and wet, please take me inside for I am now a domesticated animal, no longer used to bitter elements . and I ask no greater glory than the privilege of sitting at your feet beside the hearth . though had you no home, I would rather follow you through ice and snow than rest upon the softest pillow in the warmest home in all the land for you are my god and I am your devoted worshiper.
Keep my pan filled with fresh water, for although I should not reproach you were it dry, I cannot tell you when I suffer thirst. Feed me clean food, that I may stay well, to romp and play and do your bidding, to walk by your side, and stand ready, willing and able to protect you with my life, should your life be in danger.
And, beloved master, should the Great Master see fit to deprive me of my health or sight, do not turn me away from you. Rather hold me gently in your arms as skilled hands grant me the merciful boon of eternal rest . . . and I will leave you knowing with the last breath I drew, my fate was ever safest in your hands.

She loves you, and isn’t gone.
You’re in my thoughts, as well as your family and other dog.
I have stopped giving her her allergy meds. at night only. This seems to stop her incontience so far. Could this be a factor with her problem. mandy is 6 years old I give her an allergy injection every 21 days plus special dog food from the vet. She has been on shots for 4 years.
Hi,you should ask your vet if the medicine is causing her to wet. Also you can buy doggie pads.Check out this link.

Does Acupuncture effect your Bladder? after each treatment is over I dam near wet my pants. This is not a joke?
Yes, it can have that effect in certain patients.
You can try monitoring/limiting your fluid intake a couple of hours before you have treatment, and try going to the bathroom right before the treatment starts. You can also ask the acupuncturist to pull the needles a few minutes earlier.
Often times this post treatment urgency fades with time.
Would you say this is a good prank letter?

Dear Mr Brown,
With reference to your telephone conversation on the 29th March with my colleague Jeremy Dundole, thank you for taking the time to raise your concerns regarding our continence products. All concerns are important to TENA and we welcome the opportunity to address the issues you have raised.
I am sorry to hear about the problems you have experienced recently with the TENA disposable pull-up range. TENA are the leading supplier of hygiene products for bladder weakness and faecal incontinence here in the UK. As such, we find it deeply disturbing that your TENA pad unexpectedly exploded in a public shopping area. The fact that this led to faecal matter being projected over yourself and in your proximity causes us great concern. We are sincerely sorry, for we can only speculate on how unpleasant this must have been for you and the shoppers around you.
After a lengthy investigation we could not find any sufficient evidence to say our product was at fault, and therefore, can not take responsibility. However, we would be happy to compensate you with a voucher that is redeemable for our Tena Slip Maxi range at various retailers that stock TENA products.
We also suggest you use a more absorbent undergarment, as our adult disposable pull-up may be unsuitable for your chronic faecal incontinence. We recommend you try our TENA SLIP all-in-one nappy for added security. As a further gesture of good will, we will send you a packet of our TENA SLIPS as soon as possible.
Should you encounter any more problems with your incontinence pads, please get in touch as soon as possible with Mr Brown on the number above, or email myself at jenny-dribbles@hotmail.co.uk

Yes, it is very possible. Not everyone will understand, but as has been said before, there are a lot of people out there who will — and anyone who will not accept you for who you are is not worth your time anyway. I think the best advice I can give you other than that is just to keep your chin up and accept YOURSELF for who you are. I had a hard time dating for the longest time, not because women rejected me for my problems, but because I rejected myself and so was too afraid to approach them for fear that they would do the same. Once I got past that and became comfortable with who I am, I was able to open up to a wonderful, understanding, caring woman who is now my wife.
Just give yourself time and keep trying and there’s no reason in the world it can’t happen for you too.
As for when and how to tell them — I would say probably not on the first date, unless you are already good friends with the person — even some well meaning people might be a little "spooked" if that’s one of the first things out of your mouth, before they get a chance to know you for any of your other good qualities. (They might think that your bladder condition is one of the foremost characteristics of your life or your personality — which it’s not!!) I would say as soon as you see a reasonable chance that things might become serious for the long term — tell her then, because if the worst happens and she just can’t deal with it (which would be strictly her problem, NOT yours) you owe it to yourself to find that out before you invest yourself so deeply into the relationship that you would be terribly crushed to have her break it off. Definitely tell her before you would consider sleeping together, you don’t want any "surprises" in that setting!
Main thing — just be confident in yourself for who you are, and you will do fine. There is much more to you as a person than the size or shape of your bladder. Project yourself in that way and most or all decent women will see it that way, too. Best of luck to you!!

TREATMENT
In most instances gallstones cannot be dissolved by medical treatment . The Gall Bladder must be removed along with the stones in it. People have asked me if "Gall Bladder Flush" therapy works. To my knowledge this treatment not effective and I do not recommend it. Doctors cannot ethically use or recommend any treatment unless it is known and proven to be both effective and safe in a significantly large proportion of people.
LITHOTRIPSY: Using ultrasonic shock waves to break stones is not a currently accepted form of treatment for Gall Bladder stones.
SURGERY: The most effective cure for gall bladder stones is surgery. The classic "old" operation required a big cut, but nowadays most people are treated by Laparoscopic Surgery.
LAPAROSCOPIC SURGERY
This is currently the treatment of choice for Gall Bladder stones. The Gall Bladder and the stones are removed through small punctures. It is technically possible to remove the stones alone – but this would leave the problem gall bladder behind – which could continue to cause problems or form stones. Removing a diseased gall bladder does not cause any disability. Under normal circumstances, one would not feel the absence of the gall bladder.
LAPAROSCOPIC CHOLECYSTECTOMY
(Removal of the Gall Bladder via key-hole size punctures)
This operation is performed by specially trained surgeons. Special equipment is used to look inside the abdominal cavity ("stomach") with a video camera. The Gall Bladder with its stones are removed through small punctures.
A general anaesthetic is required and one has to stay in hospital for about 72 hours.
Laparoscopic surgery for gall bladder stones cannot be done in all cases. Some people, whose stones have moved out of the gall bladder into the bile duct may need either an open operation or an additional procedure known as an ERCP.
In addition, it is not technically possible to do a laparoscopic operation at all in some people because of severe inflammation or adhesions between organs. Such patients mat require an open operation.
ADVANTAGES OF LAPAROSCOPIC SURGERY:
1. Much less painful, only 3 to 4 stitches are needed.
2. Only 2 to 3 days stay in hospital (as little as 1 day in some instances)
3. The patient can eat and drink the soon after operation. There usually no need for an intravenous drip to be administered for 2 or 3 days as used to be the case after "open" cholecystectomy – the name used for the operation of removal of a gall bladder through a big cut.
4. Normal life can be resumed in about a week.
5. Minimal blood loss at surgery.
