Many must be removed surgically. You may find that your pet needs surgery to remove them. Then after they are removed you will need to keep the pet on a prescription food. Other manufactures than Hills make foods for this problem. None are great but they work. I have a cat who had stones removed 4 years ago and has been on a prescription diet ever since. She has not had any issues. But if you take her off the prescription food she has problems. She was eating a very high quality diet. Even on a raw diet for some time and had issues. So now all she gets is the prescription stuff.
