thanks

Drink lots and lots of water so you’ll pee a lot and flush out the bacteria that’s causing your infection. Cranberry juice (the 100% juice one, not the one mixed with sugar) is also proven to be another alternative to curing UTI.
If you’re still feeling discomfort when urinating (i.e. if the infection doesn’t go away by itself in 2-3 days) or if you’re feeling some pain in your lower and/or your upper back, please go to a doctor or urologist. It may be worse than a mere UTI.

  1. You can try drinking tons and tons of water to try to flush the infection out, you can also try an over the counter drug (AZO is pretty good, it made me sick to my stomach though). If you’ve never had a bladder infection, let me tell you, it goes from being a little uncomfortable to being unbearable in no time. Do yourself a favor and bite the bullet and go see a doctor. The medicine they give you will make you feel better in a day. Don’t listen to the people who will tell you cranberry juice, once you are already feeling discomfort it does absolutely nothing. Good luck!

  6. Cranberry. Go to the drugstore and buy cranberry extract in capsules in the vitamin section. Take them, a lot of them, with water. Do that every so often over the course of the day and you’ll start feeling much better. Then you can keep taking it for a few days. Cranberry kills the bacteria. They also sell that stuff that helps the pain from a UTI. That could help while you’re waiting for the cranberry to kick in.

Unfortunately I have experience with this. It works!

  9. AZO works really well, just be sure that you take it with food and drink lots of water. Cranberry juice works but you have to drink it at the first signs of it otherwise it loses its effectiveness. If you are still symptomatic in a week, then go to the doctor.

  10. I am usually the first person to avoid drugs and antibiotics and go for the natural remedies. But not with a UTI – I had one, tried cranberry, lots of water, several other natural suggestions… but it only eased the pain for a few days. I thought it was getting better, but then it came back in full force and by the time I gave up and took antibiotics, I had done myself damage. Now I need to pee more frequently and with more urgency as a result, and it was over 6 months ago that I had the UTI.

  11. CRANBERRY JUICE! It tastes gross to me, but it really helped! Also, you can ge these AZO tabs at wal-mart that are for urinary and bladder infections, that have lots of cranberry in um, and to me that was way better than drinking cranberry juice. Also, you can buy these concentrated craberry capsuls. I combined all 3 pretty early on and had it knocked out really quickly. Also, drink lots of water, and avoid coke and stuff like that at all costs!

  12. Garlic is an antibiotic and will kill the bladder infection. This is what you need to do:
-Squeeze about 3 lemons and put juice in a small cup, next very finely chop a garlic clove and put in the lime juice and drink it. Do this 3 times a day. In the morning, afternoon, and before bed time. Not only will it kill the infection but it will also cleanse your blood from toxins and it will kill other bacteria floating around in your body. Make sure you also drink lots and lots of water.

Another suggestion is drinking hibiscus tea with no sugar. You can drink it hot or luke warm.
