The doctor said I only have to take medication for a few months and I should be fine.

I really can’t speak for what your situation will be: this diagnosis can mean different things for different people.

My mom (mid-50s) has had this and it has not been the best. She’s had surgeries and medication, but still has big issues with her bladder capacity. I also talked with a woman whose daughter had it, and said it was a colostomy bag. So I doubt your doctor is correct, but maybe it’s a newer medication? If it works, please email me and I’ll let my mom know about it. :)

It depends if it is invasive or not.
Usually it is not and is treated with TURBT and often with 6 seeks of BCG.
The persons age has nothing to do with it.

Surgery, usually a week or so if you only had the tumor removed. If you had the whole bladder removed (cystectomy) or a partial cystectomy about 6-8 weeks. If you had carcinoma insitu and are receiving weekly treatments of a medication through a catheter, then you’re usually back to normal in a day.
