How can I get pet odor (cat) out of carpet?

admin on November 23rd, 2011

I have an older cat who is having occasional incontinence problems. I can’t seem to find a product that sufficently gets the odor out of carpet after shampooing. I have tried so many products but apparently not the right one. I’m getting desperate. Does anyone have a solution that works?

Apple cider vinegar! put down baking soda on the spot and that pour about a cup on. Yes it makes a pretty non harmful chemical reaction and that reaction will help eliminate the odor. you can also use this in the litter box as well. iv also found lemon juice and baking soda helpful. i have also used a dog urine remover. its stronger. with 5 cats iv tried everything and found its the simple home remedies that work best and are the most inexpensive. good luck to you

i’m a 21 year old healthy male. but my whole life i have wet the bed (though less often-about once a year now). also, occassionally find it difficult to hold urine and seem to have a small bladder. it’s not new, and it’s not a daily problem but i am a 21 year old male and this should not be happening. is this technically incontinence? should i consider absorbent products for long trips? etc…

No, incontinence is not having any control whatsoever. If I’m blatantly honest, I sometimes wet the bed. Like you, it’s stopped a lot now, I haven’t done so in a long time, but I do just suddenly need the loo and need to crouch down to hold it. I went to the doctor with my mum last year and apparently I have low desmopressin levels, which restricts the amount of urine produced over night etc. I can take tablets every night but I don’t choose to since it’s not going to make the problem go away completely, and there’s not much point at night any more.

Good luck x

My elderly aunts spend quite a bit of their monthly income on incontinence items. Does anyone know if Medicare will help pay for the products they need?

No, medicare does not pay for incontinence products (diapers, underpad aka chucks, urinals). They can pay for catheters though.

Dog with incontinence..?

I adopted a fifteen year old American Pit Bull Terrier about three weeks ago. She has Urinary Incontinence and Fecal Incontinence (I knew this when i adopted her – The shelter informed me of this and she was set to be euthanized that day but i took her in anyway). She is pretty healthy for her age other wise, so i would like her to live out the rest of her life in peace – She shouldn’t have to die because of her incontinence. I have wood and tile floors – So i am wondering if any one can recommend any products that disinfect/remove the odors from my floor when she has accidents? Any that you have had positive result with? Any other advice would be appreciated.

I have four other rescue American Pit Bull Terriers so i would like to keep my floors as clean as possible so they do not start going on the floors. (They are fully house broken)

Most people will probably tell you to go out and but some expensive cleaner…but I mix white vinegar with water at a 50/50 ratio. I will clean up the mess and use this to remove the odor. It works and is very inexpensive.

i am wondering does any one know where to get cheap but good adult incontinence products for me and others that need help

Hello,
I can help. My recommendation is to check out www.totalhomecaresupplies.com for a couple reasons. 1) You can shop at your convenience and in the comfort of your home and 2) products are shipped to your door in a discreet, plain box with free shipping.

TotalHomeCareSupplies has been good to my family with absorbent products at very affordable prices. They sell by the case to save you more money than you’d spend at the local drug store buying in small retail packages. (not to mention worrying about running out of them)

Hope this helps. Take care.

Like Anal Plugs??? If so please mention the name of manufacturer

No they are not, It is highly advised to bring your own stuff even if it is to be used on medical advise.

I would recommend that you use McKesson Staydry Performance Perineal Wash 8.5oz No Rinse. It features a neutral no-rinse moisturizing skin cleanser, conditioner and deodorizer specially-formulated for routine incontinence and ostomy care. You can get from FirstOptionMedical.com at $1.59.

I am 24 and I started wetting the bed after I had several surgeries on my abdomen. I think that my bladder has been weakened by the many catheters that I have had. The doc is not totally sure why i started to wet the bed. The wetting stopped after my last surgery only to start back up again about a month ago. I also have had some increased asthma attacks Is there anyway that there is a link between my asthma and my wetting the bed? And if you have any suggestion on a good brand for incontinence product i would love some advice. I am currently using the assurance brand of adult diapers from Wal-Mart but they leak dreadfully. I need some advice!

Really don’t know the answer about the asthma and bed wetting, I think your Dr. would be able to answer that. I recommend Tranquility. They are available online at Dignity With Diapers.

Does anybody know where to buy incontinence products (pads, briefs, urinary collection system) for males in the Philippines? I found several websites which feature various products to aid men who suffer from incontinence. I am particularly interested in the Alpha Dry System for Incontinence or a similar product. I need it for my dad who has just undergone prostate removal. He is very uncomfortable because he feels wet and passes urine all the time. Thanks in advance. Your response will be highly appreciated.

Yeah it’s called a pharmacy.

He needs to go to the doctor and have that looked at. Not being able to control urine flow isn’t normal. Even for prostate surgery. Removing the prostate should affect the urinary sphicter.

I am looking for low cost cloth adult diapers for use at home and at night. I think the cloth will, in the long run, save me money. Can any one recommend any company’s who sell such products at a lower cost then Angel Fluff Company?

Do you have any friends in India ? they are available High Quality Low Cost there. There is a place called Princess St In Mumbai where you will find whole-sellers who also retail these. It will be cost benefit approx 1:3 to 1:10 . comparing the lowest cost out here . Get in bulk
