Some female dogs mark for scent (mine has the route worked out exactly where it needs to be done) but what you’re describing sounds like a UTI or maybe some kind of submissive urination. Was the little puppy sending you Calming Signals at the time: eg. licking her lips, turning her head from you?
Anyway, get the vet to check for UTI you don’t wnat their kidneys to get compromised.

I have had females that marked just like males – it could be that.

But I would have her checked by the vet, just in case.

Definetly see your vet asap. Sounds most likely a urinary tract related issue. They are painful and can effect (if left to get sicker) appetite, kidneys and behavior. See your vet that is what they are there for!

My dog does that all the time. I’m sure it’s a response to what she smells (another dog’s urine). My male dog did this as well–all the time when we went for walks.
